Children's Writer's Workshops (All Ages)

Whether publishing a book or other writing form aspiring authors and writers wishing to see their work in print and/or who lack the technical skills to prepare a professional manuscript for printing, we will produce the best presentation of your work for public consumption.

Adult Creative Writing /Poetry Workshop

With guided instruction by the Phoenix Poetry Writing Project, adults 18 and older explore the art of writing and its many styles. At the conclusion of the program, these writings will be shared in a public venue.

Creative Writing/Dramatic Presentation Exercises

These exercises work to develop the skills of inventiveness, critical thinking, beginning story building, and presentation skills. It accentuates observing aspects of the immediate environment and an understanding that writing can be experiential. The next component would be to encourage the use of figurative language. To understand that creative thinking derives from the ability not only to look, but to see; not only to hear, but to listen; not only to imitate, but to innovate; not only to observe but to experience the excitement of fresh perception.

Autobiography

Students will be guided through this exercise to write an autobiography from the point of view of a place. Through a series of questions students will have a chance to exercise imaginative thinking and consider sensory aspects of their environment. This exercise emphasizes freedom of expression, critical thinking and inventiveness and of course skills building. This exercise compliments the goals of Create A Culture and will also incorporate presentation skills. Students will present their stories evoking the character/personality of the place they chose.
